रिक्शा पावं से नहीं : पेट से चलता है…

मई की तपती दुपहरिया में डोम्बिवली ;;उफ़ बहुत गर्मी थी. तभी एक रिक्शावाला दिखा. मैंने पूछा डोम्बिवली वेस्ट चलोगे, कितना लोगे? रिक्शावाला जो पशीने से तर बतर था बोला 3० रूपये. मैंने कोशिश की मोल मोलाय करने की लेकिन वह 3० से कम नहीं हुआ.मेरे पास उसकी बात मानने के अलावा कोई चारा नहीं था.

मैंने नोटिश किया की रिक्शावाला रिक्शा उचक उचक कर चला रहा है. वह कद का काफी छोटा था उसके पावं पैडल तक ठीक से नहीं पहुँच रहे थे शायद? रिक्शे की शीट पर बैठ उससे पैडल मारना संभव नहीं था.

डोम्बिवली वेस्ट पहुँच कर पैसे देते समय मैंने पूछा- तुम्हारे पावं तो बहुत छोटे हैं तुम रिक्शा कैसे और क्यों चलते हो? हांफते हुए रिक्शेवाले ने जवाब दिया-

“साहब रिक्शा पावं से नहीं : पेट से चलता है…”
